Employment and Labour law

Introduction:

What interests me about the legal profession is the game aspect – and I play to win. In the past 21 years I have specialised in employment law: a field of law in which conflict situations are the order of the day and in which a client’s emotions may run high. I do my best to view the case from my client’s perspective, while at the same time keeping a professional distance. I may therefore sometimes advise a different strategy than my client initially envisaged; and I am not afraid of doing so.

This means that I sometimes come up with creative solutions that may at first sight appear to be off the beaten legal track; after all, ‘mechanical’ or superficial advice is available anywhere. At Eversheds Faasen the legal frameworks are a given, but the solution is based on an analysis of the underlying problem.
