Introduction:

Notarial real estate consultancy requires specific competencies. These are partly legal and partly personal in nature. On the one hand, your assistance is to commercial market parties such as investors and project developers, on the other, it is to public authorities and housing corporations. Commercial parties demand that you know their market through and through and that you can be an equal sparring partner to find optimum solutions, also in terms of tax. Public authorities and housing corporations expect you to understand what their interests are and to express them clearly when you provide advice or conduct negotiations. My experience and added value are that I command both aspects and find them challenging. The two aspects sometimes come together, for example in renewable energy projects for which Eversheds Faasen is increasingly hired to provide advice.
