Introduction:

As a partner in the Corporate Law practice group, I find it essential to thoroughly understand the business context in which my clients operate. Only then is it truly possible for me to assist them. No matter what question a client presents to me, I never give any legal advice until I know the context in which the question arose. Depending on that context, a brief recommendation may suffice in some cases, but in other cases a thorough legal analysis is required. Sometimes the question should even be different, in my opinion. In that sense I always try to think one step ahead of what I am initially asked. In any event, I always aim to provide accessible legal services – advice from an ivory tower is of no use to anyone. Lawyers too often spend a lot of time on legal advice that may well exclude all risk but that does not really provide practical, relevant support. I therefore try to help build up the case file and assist my clients in making well-considered choices. Obviously, people will allow you to do so only if they trust you. That combination of specific expertise and trust is at the basis of any successful legal practice.
