Give and Gain - Eversheds Faasen supports Stek Jeugdhulp
On Friday, June 12, employees of Eversheds Faasen will attend a “graffiti” workshop together with children of the Lelyveld residential group of Stek Jeugdhulp. Together, and with professional supervision, they will be making a work of art for the new building of the residential group on Parallelweg in Nieuwerkerk aan de IJssel. The purpose of the afternoon is on the one hand to bring the children into contact with the (international) legal profession and on the other hand to give the Eversheds employees an understanding of the problems of youth services and care.
The afternoon is being organized in the context of the annual Give and Gain Day, an initiative of Eversheds International to which 47 Eversheds offices in 29 countries contribute. The activities vary from fighting illiteracy among children in underprivileged neighborhoods in Lithuania, South Africa and Spain, to employment programs in e.g. China, Estonia and France.
In the Netherlands, Give and Gain focuses on youth services this year. Managing partner Rob Faasen: “Youth services are about new opportunities. Offering young people the prospect of a better future, focusing on their talents. Offering opportunities to young people is not only a task for the care organizations; trade and industry must also assume its responsibility." Eversheds Faasen has supported social initiatives for many years, including the Pallieter foundation, which supports care for sick children.
Thea Roelofs, President of the Board of Stek Jeugdhulp, is pleased with Eversheds Faasen’s initiative. “Stek offers support and assistance to children, youngsters and their parents and guardians for whom growing up and raising children are not straightforward. For them, this kind of inspiring initiative is very welcome”, says Ms Roelofs. She will also be giving a presentation to inform the employees of Eversheds Faasen about the problems involved in youth services.
